Valverde refuses to rule out Barcelona's January move for Coutinho
FC Barcelona were interested in signing Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho last summer as they offered the Reds a hefty amount for the Brazilian star. In the end, Liverpool turned down Barca's offer as Coutinho stayed with Liverpool for the time being. Even so, his future is still very much in doubt as there have been rumors saying that the Blaugrana might soon charge again for him. Here is what Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde had to say on the matter as he spoke to the press: "Coutinho? If we do sign some players in the future, I would like it to be done quietly. We do not want it to be everywhere in the media like last summer".
In the end, Barcelona acquired Ousmane Dembele to replace Neymar but the young French international picked up a severe injury right fromt the get go. Even so, Barcelona started off this new season well as they are first in la Liga standings...
