Bayern Munich president squashes Alexis Sanchez rumoured switch

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has played down rumours that Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will be joining up with the Bundesliga side by suggesting that the Chilean’s wage demands will be too high, according to the Daily Mirror.

Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer window, following a mixed season for the Gunners, where they were unable to clinch a Champions League spot for the 21st consecutive season yet impressed many when they clinched the F.A Cup, beating eventual Premier League winners Chelsea 2-1 in the final at Wembley.

The 28-year-old, who featured in the Confederations Cup final where his side lost 1-0, is currently on a £250,000-a-week contact at the North London club, and Bayern president Hoeness fears that is the sum is too hefty.

Premier League rivals Manchester City are also in for the forward, but it emerged recently that the Gunners are not prepared to sell to a rival club, leaving the possibility of Sanchez continuing his stay with Arsenal.
