Andrea Bertolacci has suffered a knee injury during this evening’s friendly against Inter, AC Milan revealed in an official statement.

Former Roma and Genoa was carted off after a challenge with Assane Demoya Gnoukouri in which the Inter youngster failed to win the ball and was hit by the Rossoneri
midfielder, who got injured.

The 24 year old was initially feared to suffer from a knee sprain that could have seriously wrecked his first season at San Siro. Luckily, the following medical checks only highlighted a bruised knee.

Bertolacci’s recovery time has still not been disclosed, but, at least, he has to be considered in serious doubt for the next Milan’s home game against Sassuolo.

Andrea Bertolacci thrived ad Genoa last season netting six goals in 34 Serie A fixtures. He is a newcomer at AC Milan as he joined the Rossoneri  side last summer following a shocking € 20 million move from the Grifoni .
