Chelsea boss Conte feels 'betrayed' by Lukaku move

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte feels ‘betrayed’ by Romelu Lukaku, after the Belgian international rejected the chance to re-join his old side to instead join title-rivals Manchester United for a fee worth £75m plus add-ons, according to The Times via The Metro.

On Saturday, the official Man United Twitter account announced that a deal had been struck between Merseyside club Everton and the Red Devils, with it thought that it was a matter of just tying up the finalities of the move.

Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea had considered the 24-year-old forward as their number one target for the summer window but they were slow in chasing the goal-grabber, only bidding for him when they learnt of the news that Man United did.
Conte spoke to Lukaku several times since the end of last season and now feels ‘betrayed’ of his decision to move to Manchester. The Italian manager did also have issues with the Chelsea board over the failed move, but now it is reported that those issues have been settled.
