Chelsea enter race to sign Man United target James Rodriguez

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez. The Premier League champions, it is suggested, are ready to splash the cash and are willing to fork out £52m to bring the Columbian international to Stamford Bridge for next season.

Spanish publication Don Balon are reporting that Blues boss Antonio Conte has been monitoring James for some time, especially considering the falling out he had with current Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who is reported to be looking for a move out of West London this summer, after being told that his services are no longer needed via text message from his manager.

It is said that Real president Florentino Perez is keen to wrap up a deal that would see the 25-year-old James move to London, but the player himself is keen on a move to Manchester United instead, in order to play under manager Jose Mourinho. However, with Lukaku reportedly signing for the Manchester side, this one could have legs.
