Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic’s move to Premier League rivals is ‘in danger of collapse’ as Serie A side Inter Milan have suddenly entered the race for the 28-year-old Serbian, according to reports in Italy via TalkSport.

Matic has been linked to Man United for several weeks now, with Chelsea eying Monaco defensive-midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as a suitable replacement.

It was originally thought that Jose Mourinho wanted to get a deal to bring the player to Old Trafford, as the Portuguese was a fan of Matic from his Chelsea days, but that has since gone quiet, with Inter now entering the race for the players’ services.

After Romelu Lukaku opted to sign for Man United over their West London rivals, it has left a bitter taste in Chelsea’s mouth, with the side not wanting to do business with the reigning Europa League, Community Shield and League Cup champions.
