Chelsea pounce on €100m Serie A star as Lukaku joins Man Utd

07 July at 10:20
Chelsea had made Romelu Lukaku their top summer transfer target to strengthen their attacking department. Reports in England, however, claim the Belgium star is close to joining Manchester United for € 85 million which means Chelsea will have to chase a new centre-forward this summer given that Diego Costa is set to leave the Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Sport (via SOS Fanta), Lukaku will join Manchester United and Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has turned his attention on Torino star striker Andrea Belotti.

The Italian has a € 100 million release clause that can only be activated by clubs outside Serie A. Conte is a long time admirer of the Italy star and the report claim Chelsea have resumed their interest in the 23-year-old who managed 26 goals in 35 Serie A appearances last season.

Torino are not open to sell Belotti for a lower fee than his release clause and the Italian is on Chelsea’s strikers’ shopping list alongside Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata.
