Chelsea target denies Inter links

Antonio Rudiger has denied that he is heading to Inter.

The 24-year-old has also been targeted by Chelsea, and was one of the most convincing centre-backs in Serie A last season , starting 25 games, quite a few of which on the wing.

“I’ve read these voices, but curiously my team-mate [Kostas] Manolas is often linked to Inter,” the German international said to the Bild.

“If we were to believe what the newspapers write, I would have already left last season. Instead, I’m still here.

“It is precisely because of rumours like this that I have delegated these duties to my brother, so I can exclusively focus on the Confederations Cup, independently from whether there are any requests or not”.

Rudiger has been linked to the Nerazzurri since Luciano Spalletti, his former Coach at Roma, took over at the San Siro.

“As far as I know Spalletti only became Inter Coach a few days ago. But according to the Italian media, on the other hand, he’s already drawn a list of transfer wishes.

“Fundamentally I can only say positive things about him, we’ve enjoyed a good relationship from the start, and he gave me a lot of confidence even after I broke his cruciate ligament”.
