Conte wants to use proceedings from Diego Costa's sale to sign Bale

If reports from Don Balon are to be believed, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to bring Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale to the club by making use of the money the club received from Diego Costa’s sale to Atletico Madrid.

Conte sees the attacking trio of Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Gareth Bale as a one perfect for Chelsea and sees a possible move for the Welshman as a statement of intent for the Blues.

Bale, who is currently injured and didn’t feature against Tottenham in the Champions League, has made only five La Liga appearances this season, scoring twice. Even last season, his time on the pitch was restricted due to the same calf injury that is currently keeping him out.

Manchester United have drawn strong links with Bale in the past, but a concrete offer has never really arrived. Chelsea may well look to take complete advantage of this inactivity by lodging a move of their own in the next transfer window.

There is no shortage of money, thanks to the sale of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid and a move would only increase the standards at the club.
