Contract request of Man Utd star leaves Roma hopeless?

Roma have been dealt a severe blow in their chase for Ashley Young, as Manchester United are set to tie him down to a new contract soon.

Young had been linked with a move to Roma recently, with his contract as the club set to run out at the end of this season. United though, have offered him and Antonio Valencia new contracts and they are set to sign them.

The Sun state that Young is taking a pay-cut to pen a new deal at the club and Roma are now close to losing out on a possible move for him.
