CR7 better than Ronaldo, Maradona and Van Basten
Ronaldo’s incredible start to the season has been better than those of Van Basten, Zico, Maradona and the ‘other’ Ronaldo, who used to play for Inter and AC Milan. Neither of them had had such a great start to the season. AC Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko was the only newcomer in Serie A capable of reaching double figures for goals in the first 14 league games.
​Ronaldo is the second Juventus newcomer to have reached double figures for goals in his first 14 games in Serie A. The first one was John Charles who managed 13 goals in 14 appearances in 1957. Big players of the past like David Trezeguet, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Michel Platini managed didn’t score as much as Ronaldo in their first 14 games with the Old Lady. ‘Trezegol’ and Ibra had 7, Platini four.
