Di Francesco: ‘Gerson not a surprise’
The Italian tactician praised Brazilian starlet Gerson who scored his firts Serie A goals in the second half. Gerson was not a regular starter under Spalletti and today he finally netted his first goals in Italy.
“It was a great game, at the beginning we thought we were managing the game with no problems but Fiorentina reacted, they are a very good team. I feared we could have lost this game because it came after the win against Chelsea but we had the right approach.”
“Everybody is doing well and following my instructions. I like to have reached the same records of Spalletti but I want to achieve mine now. Gerson is not a surprise for me. I wanted to sign him when I was at Sassuolo. I also want to praise Dzeko, he didn’t score but he sacrificed a lot, that’s what I want to see from my players.”
