Competition newcomers Atalanta will face their first test in the highest level of European football tonight as they take on an experienced Dinamo Zagreb side.
 
Atalanta qualified for this season’s Champions League after a fairy-tale season that saw la Dea finish third, ahead of Italian giants like Milan, Inter, Lazio and Roma. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini will be hoping to continue the momentum in tonight’s game as his side look for a historic debut in the competition.
 
Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb after returning to the Champions League after a three-year absence, last appearing in the 2016/17 season, where they finished bottom of a group containing Lyon, Juventus and Sevilla.
 
Last season Dinamo Zagreb only missed out on the competition due to a play-off loss against Swiss side Young Boys.
 
Both club’s will be fighting for the second spot in the group, with Premier League giants Manchester City expected to top the group, despite their injury crisis.
