Editorial: Does Kia Joorabchian have Inter Milan's interests at heart?

What is the point of Kia Joorabchian, exactly?

As we pointed out in a previous article, there is little evidence that having someone like him is doing Inter much good.

Not only has the agent arguably playing too big a role in bringing Frank De Boer and Gabigol to the San Siro, he was also rumoured to have got Marcelino in the room when Inter were choosing a new Coach recently.

Officially an advisor to Suning, it feels like the Anglo-Iranian agent has too much power at Appiano Gentile.

Even a comparatively successful signing like Joao Mario strikes one as being too expensive at 45 million. Available for far less (15m) two seasons ago, a good European Championship was expected to inflate his price, but not this much.

Things could get worse, with Benfica defender Viktor Lindelof being scouted by former employee Massimo Mirabelli, but suddenly finding himself very close to Inter thanks to Jooarabchian’s work.

It can be argued that his presence is inflating prices, making things worse, not better for Inter. It’s hard to explain why Kia was meeting so many player agents in Milan, even during the search for a new Coach!
