Everton boss says Kean must prove he is ready to start matches

Everton head coach Marco Silva has attracted some criticism in recent weeks over his reluctance to give 30 million euro signing Moise Kean a start; the former Juventus forward being given a couple of substitute appearances so far for the Premier League side but no starts as of yet. Silva, speaking after Everton's defeat to Aston Villa last night, justified the decision:

"He is a quality player, he will play from the first minute when in training he proves to be ready and better than the others. He needs time to show himself as we want. In which he still has to improve."
