Exclusive: AC Milan and Chelsea alerted as Aubameyang snubs Borussia contract extension

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang regrets not joining AC Milan in the summer and has never hidden that he would have loved to return to his ex club.

AC Milan had been linked with signing the Gabon captain in the summer but Borussia Dortmund rejected every offer received by the Serie A giants.

Mirabelli is a long time admirer of the 29-year-old and had been trying to sign him for months. The AC Milan Director of football gave up in August when he signed Nikola Kalinic instead.

Mirabelli tried everything he could to sign Aubameyang but the player believes the club could do more. “I want AC Milan but they fell asleep”, the Gabonese striker had to say in the summer.

Chelsea had also been linked with a move for the talented footballer in the summer and although there are no fresh reports about the Blues’ interest, the imminent departure of Diego Costa could convince the Premier League giants to make an attempt either in January or in the summer.

The player regrets not joining AC Milan, so much so he has yet to sign a contract extension with the Bundesliga giants.

His current deal expires in 2020 but after a summer of speculations, Borussia Dortmund had offered the player a huge contract extension.

According to our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, however, Aubameyang has not signed a new deal and may decide not to sign a contract extension anytime in the future. Aubameyang wanted to join AC Milan so badly last summer but he probably had his last chance a few months ago as AC Milan are not likely to sign him if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season.
