EXCLUSIVE Della Valle brothers divided over Corvino return to Fiorentina

Could Fiorentina be about to welcome back former director of sport Pantaleo Corvino?

Asked about the future of his current team made up by
Daniele Pradè, Valentino Angeloni and Andrea Rogg, Andrea Della Valle did little to quell the doubters, asking people to postpone the debate to the end of the season, so as to allow the Viola to concentrate on the Champions League.

It now appears, according to our sources, that Diego della Valle, the elder of the two brothers, would be very happy to see Corvino, who is now with Bologna, return.

During his glory years, Corvino was responsible for rebuilding the Viola, recruiting the likes of Luca Toni, Stefan Jovetic, Adrian Mutu, Manuel Pasqual, Marco Donadel, Sebastian Frey and many others to play at the Franchi.

Only thing is, the current regime hasn't done so badly, adding Adem Ljajic, Borja Valero, Nikola Kalinic, Marcos Alonso and generally building a strong side.

Corvino has never hidden his like for Fiorentina's colours, though Andrea Della Valle didn't consider him when Eduardo Macia left the club in 2015 to go to Real Betis, leaving Daniele Prade in sole charge.

It is reported that the Apulian director, who is currently with Bologna, would return to Florence tomorrow if he could, but the younger Della Valle is not so enthuasistic, and prefers another alternative.

Either way, Fiorentina had best hurry up: this uncertainty has stopped the club preparing for next season, a frankly less-than-ideal arrangement with the prospect of Champions League football on the horizon.
