EXCLUSIVE: Juve want to sign prolific Serie B striker Lapadula in January window

Juventus’ January transfer priority was a top-class central midfielder, namely Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan, a target that will probably not arrive before the beginning of next campaign.

That’s why the Old Lady’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta has focused his efforts in signing young and talented players who can represent the future of the club.

Rolando Mandragora, from Pescara, is one of them. He will join the Stadium at the end of the current campaign, but calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that the Bianconeri want to sign another ace of the White-and-Blue side: Gianluca Lapadula.

The 26-year-old hit-man has plundered 12 league games so far. Serie A pretenders Pescara would listen to all offers for their leading scorer, thought they’d prefer the striker to remain at the club on loan for the remaining of the season.

Marotta, by the way, doesn’t think it the same way. He would prefer to sign Lapadula in the current transfer window to loan him out to Chievo in order to test the player’s qualities in the first top-flight team of his career.
