EXCLUSIVE Romano: Inter envoys fly to Turkey to finalize Erkin deal

A couple of years ago, Inter Milan were very close to signing Caner Erkin, who was very highly esteemed by former manager, Walter 'Rainman' Mazzarri- before both sides cancelled everything at the last moment.

Well, Inter are once again very close to the Turkish player, with Calciomercato correspondent Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Beneamata has sent envoys to Istanbul to finalise the 27-year-old's passage to Inter, and to ensure that he undergoes a medical soon.

Now available on a Bosman, the Fenerbahce defender is set to sign a three-year, €2.2 million-a-season deal with the Nerazzurri. Manager Roberto Mancini is a big fan of Erkin's, who is also appreciated in the Premier League.

Erkin has turned out 155 times for the Canaries in Superlig Action, scoring 9 goals, and has 42 caps with his national team to his name, in which he has scored twice.

Who else are Inter working on? How about two Eredevisie targets, namely Riechedly Bazoer and Arkadiusz Milik of Ajax? Only problem is, the former is expensive, and the second has scored so many goals (17, plus 11 assists this season) that he'll surely be on many European teams' targets.

The Nerazzurri have sent scouts to Holland to watch both players, with the latter being the object of a number of conversations between Inter Director of Sport Piero Ausilio and Milik's agents. He will be a potential target if the Beneamata manages to find some cash- whether from Champions League football, or an eventual sale...
