Exclusive: Sarri tells Chelsea defender he can leave in January, the latest on Fabregas to AC Milan

November hasn't been an easy month for AC Milan regarding injuries. In the match against Lazio, they had to play with only six players of Gattuso’s ideal starting eleven. Players like Biglia, Bonaventura, Musacchio and Caldara will be out of the games for several weeks or, in some cases, months.

That’s the reason why AC Milan will have to be active on the winter market. Ibrahimovic seems really close to returning to the San Siro but Leonardo needs to focus his work on the midfield and the defense. The main targets for AC Milan are placed in England. Chelsea, to be precise.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill have never been regarded as regular starters by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and both the players could leave in the winter transfer window. The contract of Fabregas expires at the end of the season and the board of the Blues is thinking about his future at the club. Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano can confirm AC Milan have already begun talks to sign the Spaniard but Roman Abramovich is still in two minds and will decide the future of the former Barcelona man in the coming weeks.

As for Cahill, Sarri and the Blues have already given their green light for the exit of the experienced England defender. Cahill will leave Chelsea in January but as of today AC Milan is not a likely destination as both Mattia Caldara and Mateo Musacchio are close to returning to action. Cahill is a possibility but not a priority for AC Milan. On the other hand, the future of Fabregas only depends on Roman Abramovich.
