From Spain: Ronaldo to plead guilty to tax fraud during his Real Madrid times

On January 14, Cristiano Ronaldo was charged with fraud for 14.7 million euros by the Provincial Court. According to AS in Spain, the Juventus striker will plead guilty to having committed four tax offences in the course of his nine years at Real Madrid and will accept a sentence of two years in jail, which will, however, remain suspended and Ronaldo will not serve it.

Last August, Ronaldo paid 13.4 million euros in fines to remedy his previous failings. AS reports that his lawyers Jose Antonio Choclan wants to turn the sentence of two years in prison into a fine of 375,000 euros to be paid to the Spanish tax office. The agreement, however, has not yet been accepted.
