Good news for Man United as target 'not untouchable' at Atletico

Manchester United may have made progress in their quest to land Antoine Griezmann next summer.

The French star has, according to AS, lost his “untouchable” status at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, having been substituted in half of his Liga games this season.

The Frenchman missed the start of the season because of a suspension,  but has since returned to net two key Liga goals.

The Madrid paper claims that the Atletico man, who was repeatedly courted by Manchester United and looked close to a move there last summer, is no longer seen as being so indispensable, something which may have been prodded by Diego Costa’s return to the Spanish capital.

Griezmann has been one of the best players in La Liga since moving to Real Sociedad, then Atletico, the 26-year-old scoring 108 Liga goals since 2009.

His brother is known to be very enthusiastic about a move to Old Trafford, though the Mancunians put paid to any problems they had in attack by nabbing Romelu Lukaku for almost €85 million this summer.
