After some difficult seasons and the loan at Montpellier first and Genoa then, the 20-year-old forward M’Baye Niang has finally returned to AC Milan, where he is now a cornerstone for the first team’s boss Sinisa Mihajlovic. Interviewed by the Corriere dello Sport, the young Frenchman has declared that he would like to remain with the rossoneri forever: “If it was up to me, there would be no problems” he said “I see myself in this team for a long time, even for 10 years. I never had doubts: I wanted to move back to Milan because I feel part of this club. I accepted to join Genoa on loan because I wanted to prove that I was somebody for Milan”
Regarding his position on the pitch, the former Caen man added: “I’m a center forward, I can eventually play as a second striker. If I could choose, I would always play with two forwards next to me. But it’s up to the coach to decide. I thank Gasperini who gave me the chance to play continuously”
Finally, a message to his compatriot Paul Pogba: “We know each other very well, and we have played many times together in the youth teams of the national team. He has done better than me, I would like to reach his levels. I’m a more offensive players, but I also fight away from the box”
