Inter, Ausilio drops Modric transfer hint

Inter director of football Piero Ausilio spoke with Sky Sport ahead of Inter-Napoli.

The Nerazzurri director was asked an update on Real Madrid star Luka Modric who is being heavily linked with a move at the San Siro: “I don’t see why we can’t dream [of his signing]”, Ausilio said.

“Last summer I said that we were are open to talking with Real Madrid. Modric is an important player, he has quality. Never say never in football”.

Modric has recently won the first Ballon d’Or in his career.

There are several rumors regarding his future. Some say the Croat will close his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, others believe the Merengues will sell Modric at the end of the season as Florentino Perez doesn’t want to offer his midfield star a new contract.

Modric’s Real Madrid contract expires in 2020. After the Ballon d’Or win, Modric said he wants to close his career at the Bernabeu.
