Inter back in the market for PSG defender, Barca target after Roma loss

Today’s edition of the Corriere dello Sport (via le10Sport) claims that Inter are interested in Marquinhos.

The former Roma sensation has performed very well for PSG this season, enough to attract interest from Barcelona, too.

Moving to Paris for 31 million in 2013, the Brazilian needed time to become one of Ligue 1’s best defenders, but is now a respected member of a strong partnership with compatriot Thiago Silva.

Inter, for their part, are looking for a partner for the ageing Joao Miranda, with neither Jeison Murillo or Gary Medel shining in last weekend’s 3-1 collapse at home against Roma.

Inter are also interested in Kostas Manolas, but the Roman paper claim that Marquinhos is their No.1 target.

This may explain why Marquinhos recently explained that he’s “begun negotiations [with PSG, over a new deal] which may take some time.

“I’m happy at PSG, I feel like I’m part of the club’s plans and I don’t see why I’d leave, at least if I still have the coach and the front office’s confidence”.

The 22-year-old won’t come cheap, however, L’Equipe revealing recently that the Parisians will ask for €60m for their man.
