Inter in pole position to sign Man Utd outcast Darmian in January

Matteo Darmian joined Manchester United one year ago completing a € 18 million move from Torino. The Italy International had an amazing start to the season under Louis Van Gaal last term scoring the in his first Premier League game against Tottenham, but then failed to live up to promises and keep performances high for the whole 2015-16 campaign.

New Red Devils’ boss Jose Mourinho is not a fan of Darmian really. The Italian right back has only played the Europa League Feyenoord clash this season and has never been called for any Premier League game this season.

Darmian, 26, even watched his teammates’ 1-0 win over Zorya on Thursday night sitting in the Old Trafford’s stands. Youngster Fosu-Mensah played in place of him, despite being a centre midfielder adapted in that position.

Leaving Manchester in January seems the only solution for a possible relaunch of the 26-year-old who could miss his spot with Italy national team, should he fail to play on a regular basis with his club.

In this moment, Inter are the most interested club in welcoming the services of the Italian right-back. Santon, D’Ambrosio and Nagatomo are not Inter material and Suning will try to get rid of them in the winter transfer window. With Ansaldi who is expected to recover from an injury, Darmian would be the perfect player to pick to play on the opposite edge.
