Inter: Massimo Moratti confirms negotiations with China group Suning

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti was part of a group of representatives who travelled with Italy prime minister Matteo Renzi to Tehran in order to meet top Iranian business man and politicians.

Moratti, who’s always pretty loquacious with journalists,  was obviously asked about the future of the club, giving some very interesting answers.

“I am not going to cover any more roles inside the club, those are just journalistic rumours”, Moratti told reporters.

“However, Erik Thohir is negotiating with China group Suning. I don’t know too many details because I am not in charge of that, but they are a very solid and reliable group which can strengthen Italy’s economy.”

Moratti’s words indirectly confirm Inter’s historical partner Pirelli are not involved in negotiations with Suning.

The 70-year-old business man was also asked to share his thoughts on AC Milan’s surprising decision to sack Sinisa Mihajlovic, a former Inter player and suggested the Nerazzurri not to reserve Roberto Mancini the same treatment.

“The news left me stunned. I respect Mihajlovic a lot, but managers’ life is very hard.”

“Everyone at the club supports Mancini. He won some leagues in the final minutes and wehave to expect something good from him.”
