Italian media praise Liverpool duo and ‘condemn’ Napoli strikers

Italian media analyze Napoli’s 1-0 defeat at Anfield Road praising Mo Salah and Alisson whose performances gave the Reds a big hand to qualify for the last-16 stage of the competition.

The ratings of both former Roma stars are very high on Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport.

On the other hands, the ratings of Virgil van Dijk’s are very different in every paper. La Gazzetta dello Sport rates the Dutchman 7.5 (as much as Salah and more than Alisson), while Il Corriere dello Sport rate VVD with a low 5.5 and Tuttosport gives him a 6.5/10.

As for Napoli, there are only a few players that emerge for their positive performances: Allan and Koulibaly were among the best while the likes of José Maria Callejon, Dries Mertens, Marek Hamsik, Arkadiusz Milik, and Lorenzo Insigne are ‘condemned’ for their poor performance at Anfield Road.
