There are still many top players who will see their contracts expire in June 2018. That means any club can approach them in January and sign them for free at the end of the season if they fail to sign a contract extension within the next two months.

Many top clubs are then looking at the list of players with expiring contracts. A list that includes the like of Lionel Messi, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and many other top class stars.

Four Juventus stars will see their contracts expire at the end of the season: Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah. The latter has already reached an agreement with Galatasaray, whilst the future of Lichtsteiner remains up in the air. Chiellini will pen a new deal with Juve soon whilst Barzagli could retire at the end of the season.

The Old Lady is also looking at some free agents available. No secret their priority signing is Liverpool star Emre Can. The Germany International has confirmed the offer of the Serie A giants and a January or summer move to Juve is on the cards.

Can has also emerged as a possible reinforcement for Manchester United with the Red Devils who have also being linked with Atletico's Gimenez in the past. The Premier League giants, however, have al several players out of their contracts in the summer: we are talking about the likes of Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Daley Blind.

As for Chelsea, they don’t have any player with an expiring contract but the Premier League champions have their eyes set on several top targets who can move to the Stamford Bridge for free at the end of the season. In Serie A the likes of Faouzi Ghoulam (Napoli) and Stefan De Vrij (Lazio) have put contract talks on hold due to a disagreement on their release clause. Juventus are also chasing the star duo. The Blues are also interested in Alexis Sanchez and Ross Barkley who came close to moving to the Stamford Bridge in the summer. Check out the best players out of their contracts in our gallery.
