Juventus lead race to sign Sevilla midfielder

After losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid, Juventus are already looking to revamp their squad as they want to continue to battle on multiple fronts starting next season. Their most recent confirmed interest is Steven N’Zonzi, Sevilla’s powerful central midfielder who has been on the Bianconeri radar for quite some time. An offer in the range of 30 million EUR was entertained during the winter transfer window, but that figure is rumored to have grown to be closer to 40 million today.

Sevilla will be reluctant to lose their midfield lynchpin and point of reference, but also know they have to be intelligent should an appropriate offer arrive for the former Stoke City player. N’Zonzi has great vision and his passing and strength on the ball make him an ideal candidate for Max Allegri, who often saw his midfield options dwindled down due to injuries. The Bianconeri will want a capable player in the center of the field who is already tested in European competition. With Verratti seemingly impossible and Tolisso likely to start a bidding war, attention for Juve has now turned to N’Zonzi.
