Juventus news: Allegri considers formation switch in wake of Pjanic and Khedira injuries

Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri is preparing ahead of Juventus’ clash with Spal that takes place after the international break concludes. Juve are likely to be without both Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic for this clash, both of whom are out with injury.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport are reporting that, to counter this, Allegri is considering a tactical change – switching formation from his typical 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2, with Bentancur and Matuidi in the middle and Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado on the left and right wings respectively.

If Allegri plays a 4-4-2, Mario Mandzukic and Cristiano Ronaldo will likely lead the line; as the two goal-scorers to give Juventus an important 2-0 win at San Siro against AC Milan. Mandzukic recently returned from an injury which kept him out of Juventus’ trip to Old Trafford and saw him come on as a late substitute in Juventus’ 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United.
