Juventus reject 52 million bid from Chelsea for Brazilian full-back

Reports in The Guardian state that Chelsea have had a whopping £52M bid rejected by Juventus for Brazilian full-back Alex Sandro. Bianconeri CEO Beppe Marotta hinted over the weekend that an offer had been tabled but that his club had turned it down. The 26-year-old has been high on Blues boss Antonio Conte’s wish-list for some time and the journal states that the Premier League champions will return with an improved offer.

Sandro’s versatility at being able to play as a full-back or an attacking wing-back has made him one of the hottest names on the summer transfer market and after the reported tensions at Stamford Bridge between Conte and the club’s power brokers, this offer should have gone some way to dampen down the flames on a situation which looked in danger of getting out of control.

Chelsea patron Roman Abramovich was said to be unhappy with the way the Italian had dealt with the situation surrounding striker Diego Costa were he told him by text message that he wouldn't’t figure in his plans next season. Some reports on Friday even suggested Conte was on the verge of quitting the club but these rumours have been quashed by the West London side.
