Juventus retire from race to sign Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs targets

Juventus are close to completing the signing of Douglas Costa. The Old Lady’s CEO Beppe Marotta is flying to Munich where he will finalize the transfer of the Brazilian star. According to reports in Italy Douglas Costa will have his medical with the Old Lady tomorrow but his signing will prevent the Serie A giants from welcoming the services of Danilo, Fabinho and Serge Aurier.

After the signing of Uruguay starlet Rodrigo Bentancur, in fact, the Old Lady has only one slot available for non-European players and Douglas Costa is going to fill it. Danilo, Fabinho and Serge Aurier are all non-EU players and that means Juventus can’t sign any of them until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Real Madrid defender has recently emerged as a possible transfer target of Chelsea with the Blues who are reportedly ready to bid almost € 30 million to sign the Brazilian.

Fabinho, another Brazilian star, is being linked with moves to the J Stadium and to the Old Trafford but, yet again, Juventus will be prevented from signing him due to Douglas Costa’s arrival.

Serge Aurier, who is a transfer target of Manchester United and Tottenham as well, has a French passport that, however, is only valid in France and not in Italy, nor in any other European country. Juventus executives met the player's agent last week but the talented full-back is an Ivory Coast defender and the signing of Douglas Costa will also make it impossible for Juve to sign him.
