Juventus star: Italy can learn from World Cup failure

Paulo Dybala says that Italy can learn from their World Cup elimination.

The Argentine star says that it will be “strange” at Russia 2018 without the Azzurri, and also that he felt “sorry” for Juventus team-mates like Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Gianluigi Buffon.

La Joya claims that the Azzurri could learn from their first failure to reach the final stage since 1958, a hint that the 3-5-2 and possibly the player selection weren’t quite up to scratch.

“It’ll be strange not to see the Azzurri at the World Cup,” he told ESPN last night (via Ripples Nigeria).

“However, I think it can help them change their style of play a bit, given they’ve had some difficulties lately.

“It’s a shame because I have several teammates in the Italy squad, who had their own dreams, and I’m sorry they won’t be there.”

Dybala himself started the current campaign very well, enough to finally break through with Argentina, who were themselves close to not making the plane to Russia.

Things changed in their last qualifier, however, their 3-1 win over Ecuador enough to earn an automatic berth, and avoid both elimination or the need to go through an intercontinental playoff.
