Juventus to beat Chelsea & Man Utd in race for the "New Baggio"

The future of Italian international winger Federico Bernardeschi looks to be with Juventus. Calciomercato.com’s Nicola Balice writes that the Bianconeri are in pole-position to land the 23-year-old who is currently on international duty with the Under-21’s in Poland.

The player dubbed the “New Baggio” has been courting interest from the Premier League with champions Chelsea and Manchester United understood to have already contacted the player’s representatives. Fiorentina are desperate for Bernardeschi to sign a new deal in Tuscany but with talks seemingly heading nowhere, a summer move looks increasingly likely.

Latest reports suggest that the Bianconeri will table a €40M offer for the player and although they expect this to be rejected by his current employers, club chiefs want to make it known that their interest in the player is concrete and that they can expect a further advance on this before the summer is over.

Bernardeschi played a pivotal role in Italy’s 2-0 opening group game in Krakow on Sunday evening and his club future looks like remaining in the peninsula.
