Everton: Mazzarri the leading candidate to replace Koeman

Walter Mazzarri could be back in the Premier League. The Italian tactician was sacked by Watford at the end of last season and Everton are now interested in welcoming his services due to the Toffees’ disappointing start to the season under Ronald Koeman.

The Holland boss could only manage seven points in just as much Premier League games, a very disappointing result given the investments made by the club’s board in the summer.

Everton’s Europa League campaign has not been impressive as well. The Toffees have one point in two games as they lost 3-0 against Atalanta and drew 2-2 against Apollon.
According to several sources in Italy Evertonwill make contact with Mazzarri in the coming days and the Premier League side could decide to hire him if the board will sack Koeman in the coming hours.

The former Inter boss is the leading candidate to take over at the Goodison Park if Koeman faces sack. Mazzarri is contracted with Watford until June 2019 and should be flying to Liverpool in the coming days to have a first meeting with the representatives of the club.
