Lazio accuse Juventus of tapping up €45m Liverpool target

Lazio have accused Juventus of going behind their backs in the quest for Keita Balde Diao.

The former Barcelona youth player is also being chased by Liverpool, Inter and AC Milan, and wants to leave the club, something he’s emphasized on numerous occasions.

Sporting director Igli Tare has adopted a hard line, saying that Lazio will sell on their terms, and that three offers have been made for him, of up to 45 million.

“We’ve received offers from three big teams, all bids between 30 and 45 million,” Tare told Tuttosport.

“Selling him at 30 would be to sell him cheap. These three top clubs have contacted us to ask for permission to speak to his representatives.

“Juventus, on the other hand, have never asked us officially, but we know for a fact that they’re speaking with his agent”.

The 22-year-old has scored 16 times with Lazio and, despite a mid-season dip (and benching), he has performed at very high levels when he’s been on form.

“Our objective is always to renew Keita’s deal, to be level with Lazio’s best players.
“But even if we were to sell him it would be up to us to decide. We’re not afraid of losing him next year for nothing”.
