Lazio edge closer to €13m deal for wantaway Chelsea man

According to what has been reported by Sky Sport UK, Lazio are edging closer to a €13m deal for Chelsea's Italian full-back Davide Zappacosta. Zappacosta has struggled to play much at Chelsea and has not fit in new head coach Maurizio Sarri's plans in the first half of the season.

Lazio, meanwhile, are in need of a right wing-back; Adam Marusic currently suspended for two games and the likes of Dusan Basta and Patric not consistently performing on the right flank.

A potential deal has been rumoured to set Lazio back €13m, for the deal to be completed on a pemanent basis - whilst there have been contrasting reports that the deal would be a loan with option-to-buy deal; giving the Biancocelesti a chance to evaluate the Italian before committing to signing him long-term.

Zappacosta has been told he can leave Chelsea and reportedly has accepted the offer of his bosses to leave. The former Torino man will be looking for an exit as soon as possible; one which Igli Tare and Claudio Lotito can provide him with a move to Rome.
