Lazio fight back from 3-0 with 20 minutes left to draw 3-3 with Atalanta

Serie A has returned today with Lazio and Atalanta contesting the first league match after the international break at the Stadio Olimpico.

Luis Muriel opened the scoring in the 23rd minute for the visitors, before doubling their lead in the 28th minute. Alejandro Gomez added to the tally in the 37th minute giving the Bergamo side a 3-0 lead going into half-time.

Presumably Simone Inzaghi gave the Lazio players a stern talk in the dressing room at half-time as the team came out fighting. It wasn't until the 69th minute, however, that Lazio got a goal back, with Ciro Immobile scoring a penalty to give the Biancocelesti a glimmer of hope.

Within a minute, that glimmer turned to a more solid chance at salvaging a result when Joaquin Correa made it 3-2. Atalanta fought hard to resist Lazio but eventually the hosts levelled things up with an injury time penalty scored by Ciro Immobile, with the match finishing 3-3.
