Lazio join Chelsea, Bayern Munich in race for Ben Arfa

It's not been a fun few days for Hatem Ben Arfa. Despite scoring 17 goals this season with Nice, the former Newcastle hopeful was first unable to visit FC Barcelona because of a flu, only for the Catalans to then deny that they had any interest in signing him anyway.

Whether that is true or not, FootMercato in France have other leads: Lazio are interested in him, as are Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Though the French website claims that he is completely focussed on ending the season with a club that has helped him so much in recent times, Ben Arfa has also been linked with Lyon. We'd also reported that Inter and AC Milan were interested in him.

And he's not afraid to confess that we wants to embark on a new adventure, even at a big club.

"I don't want to regret my next choice" he told Nice-Matin in an interview today "I'm ready to fly the coop and join a big club, without the slightest problem.

"I don't want to talk about Barcelona, there's a lot of talk around that. I'm comfortable here at Nice. So far, I haven't made a decision".

Regarding the competition inherent in joining a big club: "it's there, in every elite club. It doesn't scare me. It's not a shipping trip.

"There are many things to take into consideration: the coach [notice how it comes first! ed], the club, the environemtn, the weather. My quality of lfie would be key, too".
