Leonardo reveals why spending €35 million on Paqueta is not a risky investment

AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has revealed as to why the club feel that the fee shelled out for signing Lucas Paqueta is not a risky investment carried out by the rossoneri.

The Brazilian had agreed to sign with Milan earlier in 2018 in about October, but the rossoneri announced the capture some days ago. And the player joined up with the squad only recently and was presented  to the press today.

Milan sporting director Leonardo though, was asked in the press conference about whether the investment they have made on Paqueta is risky or not, since the Brazilian is arriving for a fee of 35 million euros.

Leonardo played down concerns of the investment being a risky one. He said: "We do not believe it is a risky investment, it was an important expense, yes, we know about the stakes we have but the investment was important.

"He's a young player who has already proved his worth and now he will have to do it at Milan too. We want an offensive, proactive team, of course, there are moments and the current one is a reconstruction moment, and we want to buy offensive players regardless of nationality."
