Man City join Barca, Man Utd in race for €100m Atletico star

Manchester City are set to join the race for Antoine Griezmann, according to Diario Gol.

The 26-year-old is a one-man war machine, but may be tempted to leave the Colchoneros if they are incapable of competing, as they did last season.

Manchester City are looking to replace former Atletico man Sergio Aguero, but Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are interested, too.

The Red Devils were particularly interested last summer, but Griezmann’s new deal curtailed their efforts. Pep Guardiola is a big enthusiast, and the driving force behind the Sky Blues’ recruitment.

Recent reports indicating that the Blaugrana considered Griezmann, according to the latest reports from Spain, as a priority. Atletico have not been able to sign players this summer, perhaps weakening the side.

Barcelona were planning to nab Griezmann - who has scored 61 Liga goals for Atleti - before July 1st, 2018, when his €200 million release clause lowers to €100m. The idea would be to offer Atletico a price between the two.
