Man United look to hijack James Rodriguez deal from Chelsea

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is looking to rub salt in the wounds of Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, following his snatching of forward Romelu Lukaku from Everton. The Red Devils’ boss is poised to offer a deal for Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez, leaving his Premier League rivals The Pensioners once again out to dry to the race for their target, according to The Daily Star.

Rodriguez has spent the last three years at the La Liga side, having joined from Ligue 1 club Monaco for a deal worth around £70m back in 2014.
The 25-year-old Columbian international is expected to quit the Bernabeu this summer, after falling out of favour by French manager Zinedine Zidane.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, represents Mourinho as well, with reports suggesting that he may be willing to take the player of Real’s hands.
News of this will surely be a blow to Italian Blues boss Conte, who has already missed out on a desired attacker.
