Man Utd blow as Griezmann reportedly agrees terms with Barcelona

Manchester United had been linked with signing Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann last summer but the Red Devils failed to wrap up a deal with the Colchoneros who raised their star’s release clause from € 100 million to € 200 million just to avoid that any top club would match the player’s release fee.

According to reports in Spain Barcelona will make an attempt to sign the Frenchman at the end of the current campaign and French news outlet Le10Sport claims Griezmann has reached a ‘principle of agreement’ with the 26-year-old.

Barcelona are still waiting to see Ousmane Dembélé in action as the Frenchman picked up a serious muscle injury in October and will remain out of action until January 2018.

The former Borussia Dortmund star was regarded as Neymar’s heir at the Nou Camp but should Barcelona land the signing of Griezmann, the latter would become the natural heir of Neymar in Catalonia.

Mundo Deportivo revealed yesterday Barcelona are open to offer Griezmann a € 20 million-a-year deal for five years. If the report of Le10Sport is accurate, the player has given his green light to a move to Barcelona at the end of the season.
