Man Utd target in talks to sign new Juventus deal

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly in talks to hand yesterday's match winner Mario Mandzukic a new contract to effectively tie him down to the club till the end of his career.

The 32-year-old Mandzukic has appeared 12 times in the Serie A this season, scoring as many as seven times and becoming a very important player for the club. Yesterday, his header from close range had helped Juve pick up a 1-0 win over Inter in Turin.

Corriere dello Sport state that Juve are in talks to hand Mandzukic a new contract in an attempt to tie him down to a new deal beyond 2020 and till his retirement from football.

The Croat's current deal at the bianconeri runs out in the summer of 2020, but Juve want to extend it till 2022 or 2023, but it will reduce his wage to about 3 million euros a season.

Mandzukic is keen on signing a new deal, with his entourage and the club already in talks for the same, with Manchester United still interested in signing him.
