Manchester Derby: City, United to square off over Torino defender
From Napoli (who came very close to buying him in summer) to Manchester United (on whom we reported more recently), it looks like the young Serbian is set to leave Turin in summer.
Now, however, a report from La Stampa has the Red Devils' bitter rivals, Manchester City, joining the hunt for the 24-year-old and ready to make an offer in summer.
Maksimovic starred last season for Torino, supplanting Cesare Bovo and forming a solid defensive trio with Emiliano Moretti and Kamil Glik. This campaign has been more of an uphill battle, as he suffered an injury on international duty with Serbia in September which kept him out until January.
Even his return didn't provide much respite, as the Granata have been having a torrid time of it, and last year's back line has struggled to keep up its form.
