Manchester United ready to meet Spurs' valuation for England ace

According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are ready to give in to Tottenham Hotspurs demands and table a £50M offer for midfielder Eric Dier. Boss Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the England international and has made him one of his priority summer targets.

The Portuguese tactician is understood to be looking for a new central defender, centre-midfielder, a winger and a striker ahead of the new campaign with the first of those positions having been filled by the arrival last week of Swedish international Victor Lindelof.

Mourinho now wants a long-term successor to Michael Carrick and the 23-year-old Dier has the perfect profile. The North London club want £50M for one of their star men and although reluctant to pay what he believes to be a hugely inflated figure, Mourinho and the United board may have pay the full amount to get their man.

Another player on the radar is that of Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic who Mourinho had under his charge at Stamford Bridge. The 28-year-old would represent a cheaper option and if Sours chairman Daniel Levy plays hard to get, attention could be directed towards the Premier League champions
