Marchisio: ‘Ronaldo has brought desire to Juve, I still want Italy place’

Claudio Marchisio gave an interview to Sky Sport, in which he detailed some aspects of his career, as well as revealing the inspiration behind his choosing of the number 10 shirt, his thoughts on Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus and his desire to remain a part of Roberto Mancini’s Italian national team.

“The number 10? I chose it for various reasons, led by Alessandro Del Piero, who has always been my idol since he was a child, and then he was among the available numbers, I arrived when the season had already started. I do not consider myself a true 10, I have a different role but I'm tied to this number and finally there was the possibility to wear it.

“Juve? They are always the strongest, there are still lots of games but they have got such a deep and strong squad that they’re definitely the favourite, Cristiano Ronaldo has brought to the Bianconeri his great professionalism in daily work and this has raised even more the awareness, strength and desire for victory.

“Italy? I still want to be a protagonist, I hope one day in a call by Mancini, but it depends on the technical commissioner, he has a very difficult task, but if he calls, I will answer.”
