Massimiliano Allegri insists the Serie A title race is not over yet

Massimiliano Allegri has met journalists ahead of Juventus’ trip to the San Siro where they will face strugglers AC Milan tomorrow night.

Despite the Old Lady’s is six points clear second-place Napoli with seven matches left, the Bianconeri tactician believes the Serie A title race is not over yet.

“Everything can happen in football. Napoli and AS Roma will not slow down, we can waste no points against AC Milan. We have a psychological advantage and we can’t lose it.

“Winning twenty games out of twenty-one is still not enough to win the league.”

“Roma can still make 84 points and Napoli can get to 88.”

“I don’t want to talk about referees, I want the lads to be concentrated and focused. We want to win the fifth successive Scudetto.”

Contract extension is not an issue at all. I only need to meet the club and talk to them, there are no problems at all. I am not waiting for Real Madrid [to call me], I am happy here.”

Talking about tomorrow’s San Siro clash, Allegri has backed his counterpart Mihajlovic for his job at AC Milan so far.

“I am not the one who can say if AC Milan are in crisis or not. They are battling it out to qualify to Europe and they have reached the Coppa Italia final.

“AC Milan have already beat Inter and Fiorentina and they will be motivated after spending all last week to training camp.”

“Rugani has been improving a lot recently. He’s gained experience with game time, he should start tomorrow.”

“When I was coaching Balotelli I used to tell him, ‘Help yourself and God will help you too’. He was vital to help us snatching the third spot. His lost his way a bit after that, but he’s young and has plenty of time to recover. It’s just up to hm.”
