Milan: Maldini urges patience, rules out top-4 finish

AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini feels his old club will, once again, miss Champions League qualification.

Maldini spoke before their defeat at the hands of Juventus at the San Siro on Saturday.

"It's going to be a tough one because Juve are the strongest squad in Italy," the Rossoneri legend told Sky Sport Italia. Milan have revamped the squad and it's going to require a little patience. After so many changes, results never come immediately.

“They are not worthy of the top four now, but it's a long season ahead. So far other teams have played better and deserve to be above them."

As far as Juve is concerned, Maldini heaped praise on the Old Lady. “The team has been renewed a lot, it takes patience, the results are never immediate. Juventus is the strongest team in Italy. They’ve been the best the last 6 years.”

No doubt, he was unsurprised when Milan fell 2-0 to the Bianconeri later on.
